Privacy Policy

Peak of Fluency · Effective 7 October 2026

Peak of Fluency is a language-learning game. This policy explains exactly what data the game handles, where it goes, and how to delete it. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

Playing without an account

You can play entirely as a guest. In guest mode your progress is stored only in your own device's browser storage. It is never transmitted to us or to any server, and we have no way to see it. Clearing your browser data deletes it permanently.

What we collect if you create an account

Accounts are handled by Google Firebase Authentication. If you sign up with email and password, or sign in with Google, we receive:

  • Your email address
  • Your display name (the name you choose in-game, or the one attached to your Google account)

We do not collect your real name, address, phone number, payment details, location, contacts, photos, or any biometric data. We never access your microphone or camera.

What we store about your gameplay

When signed in, your save file is stored in Google Cloud Firestore under your account's unique ID. It contains only game state:

  • Pet stats, bond levels, and which pets you have unlocked
  • Vocabulary progress and spaced-repetition review scheduling
  • In-game currency, boons, run history, and map progress
  • Daily streaks and your display name and game settings

Firestore security rules restrict every save document so it can only be read or written by the signed-in account that owns it.

Gameplay activity summaries

Your save also keeps a small daily summary of how you played, counted per calendar day: questions answered and answered correctly, runs started and how they ended, the highest act reached, treats and stars earned and spent, how often you opened the game and whether that was in the Android app or a web browser, and whether your device has a Thai voice for pronunciation. Only the last 60 days are kept.

We use these counts to improve the game (for example, to see where players get stuck). They are stored with your save, are never shared, and are deleted with your account. For guest players the summary stays in the guest save on your device and never reaches us.

Error reports

When the game hits an error while you are signed in, it may send us a short report: the error message and stack trace, the app version, your browser and device information (user agent), your account's user ID, and the page you were on. At most 20 reports are sent per session.

We use error reports only to fix bugs. They are stored in our own Google Cloud Firestore project, are never shared, and are deleted automatically after 90 days. Guest players never send error reports.

Data stored on your device

The game keeps some information in your browser's local storage so it can work offline and remember your preferences: your guest save, your guest name, your chosen theme, your focused-learning setting, a temporary sign-in flag, and a cache of vocabulary data. This stays on your device.

If a save can't be loaded, or loads but has to be repaired, the game keeps a copy of the original on your device (under keys starting with petlingo_save_backup_, only the last 3) so it can be recovered. These backups are never uploaded, and clearing the app's site data removes them.

Audio and speech

Thai pronunciation is spoken using your device's own built-in text-to-speech engine, through the browser's standard Web Speech API. The audio is generated locally on your device. Nothing is recorded, and no audio or microphone input is ever captured or transmitted.

Service providers

Two providers process data on our behalf: Google Firebase (authentication and save storage) and Vercel (website hosting). Like most hosting services, they may keep standard technical logs such as IP addresses and request timestamps for security and reliability. We do not use analytics services, advertising networks, or third-party trackers, and we never sell or share your data with anyone else.

Deleting your data

You can delete everything at any time:

  • In the game: open Settings and choose Delete Account. This permanently removes your save file and your login account. It cannot be undone.
  • By email: write to peakoffluency.language145@aleeas.com from the address on your account and we will delete it for you.
  • Guest players: clearing your browser data removes your save completely.

Deleting your account removes your save data and your authentication record. Backups and provider logs may persist for a short period before rotating out.

Children

The game is suitable for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because guest mode requires no account and transmits nothing, it is the recommended way for younger players to use the game. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Significant changes will be announced in the game.
